Paper! Sheek or Juvenile? I do not know, but I like it!

I would like to announce that we got a real tree!!! The debate between a real vs. artificial tree has been a bit of a battle at our house. As I grew up it was customary to chop down and set up a real tree, where as Jake is fond of artificial "pretty" trees as it were. Our first year married I was a real softy and we bought a fake tree. I did in fact love it, and that is what we have had for the last three years. BUT THIS YEAR I GOT BOTH!!! It just so happened that Jake was in Seattle on business and my little sister was here to talk me into it... mwa hahaha. However, I did not want to splurge on a whole new set of decorations for this tree, so we came up with an alternate idea - which I think was a stroke of genius. Let's use paper!

I wanted to post some pictures of our black-and-white-paper-decorated,-real-Douglas- Fir,-with-homemade-ornaments,-amazing-paper-link-chain,-origami-peace-cranes-and -balloon-ornaments. (That is it's official title... although ShaNae calls it Oscar) We took great care in folding and cutting all night to create the masterpiece. I think this is what sisters are for.

Oscar

With lights!

The amazing paper snowflake/star tree-topper

Two out of many Origami peace cranes. Black on top, polkadot on the bottom.

Six sided striped ball

Another Six sided striped ball

Origami polkadot balloon.

Okay Okay, you get the idea. I won't post a zillion pictures just so you can see every single ornament. But they are all so neat. An all-nighter that was well worth it I say! See more pictures on Facebook - Yes, there are more!!! We are out of control.

I LOVE LOVE it! SO awesome!

P.S. I have very mixed feelings about your little pooper... probably feelings that shall never be fully resolved. LOL!!! Though I must say I am not entirely surprised that your hubby would do something like that. :)

By the way..."Sheek" is actually spelled 'chic'. Just so ya know.
