I remember one specific St.Pattrick's Day when I was in first grade our teacher hid teeny tiny laminated Leprechauns all over the classroom. When we were lucky enough to find one we got to choose a treat out of the "Pot of Gold" at the end of a rainbow. It wasn't exactly three granted wishes or endless riches, but it has stuck with me and I always remember it when March 17th rolls around. It kind of gave me a sense of wonder for the Holidy. I love the whole setting (except for perhaps the beer drinking Irishman part - although their pub songs are sometimes entertaining... off subject...where was I...) Yes, I love the clovers, and the good luck charms and all things St.Pattrick's Day. It is also the first green of Spring!
I have heard of some families searching for leprechauns outside or going all out with the green clothes. I have heard of "leprechauns" leaving shamrock notes for their kids to find or having green food for dinner. I am intrigued by these little traditions because they are not as consistent as some of the other Holiday Traditions like a tree at Christmas or a basket on Easter.
Do you have a St. Patrick’s Day memory or tradition? I want to hear about it!

Well St. Patrick's Day is my birthday so we always celebrate it big! All growing up my mom would make green pancakes and green milk for breakfast, and of course we would wear green. I love St. Patty's!!!
How cool are you putting all the "lucky" songs on your blog! I love it. Plus I really loved your last post too on the harder we work, the luckier we get. Gave me something to think about. Good perspective: ) So as for St. Patty's day traditions, we alway did the Green Breakfast thing, which is always fun. But I'm liking the idea of leprachans (man I know I spelled that wrong). I'm going to see if I can find some fun ideas with that. I'll let you know!
I will probably never forget St. Patty's of 2007. I was working in an assisted living center and I put together a huge celebration, complete with a bagpipes performance and cute cute little girls that came and did Irish step dancing for the residents. It was so fun!
One of my favorite traditions is the gold coins that have chocolate inside them. Yum!
