Jungle Cupcakes
I undertook this project for Scouts. (Pack Meeting for those of you familiar with the program.) The theme was Jungle Safari so I wanted to go the extra mile on my "refreshments" assignment. I had a few other ideas, but this is what I ended up doing. I am very proud to say that I made 48 of these little critters! Top row we have lions (with manes made of coconut that I colored orange). 2nd row we have zebras. (The trick to these is the elongated nose) 3rd row are the tigers. (Orange M&M's for ears) 4th we have the Monkeys! These are my personal favorite. (Junior mints for big silly ears) 5th row is another jungle cat - the leopard. A variation on the tiger. (Sprinkle spots instead of stripes) 6th row is the Panda bear. (Half of a marshmallow used for each eye.) They were a big hit with the scouts and I was glad I had an outlet for some creativity.
The ones pictured below are just some of the experimental ones. I did these extras to see which animals I liked the best. You'll see a koala bear in the top right corner. A giraffe in the middle (don't worry if you couldn't tell, no one knows what that one is. haha) At the bottom left is a fat hippo and there is an elephant at the bottom right. Other attempts (not pictured) included a snake, a tucan, and an alligator. Due to time restraint, I did not have time to give those animals a fair trial.
