...HIKING! It has become tradition over the last few years to find a little mountain trail to go explore with Jake's Mom, and I always come back reveling in the awesomeness! I guess I sometimes don't realize how much I yearn to be out in the mountains. It's always a great feeling to WALK somewhere rather than be busily transported there. So I am very grateful for this annual opportunity that gives me that chance.
Isn't my Mother in law enchanting? We really love the time we get to spend with her and feel so blessed to have such a great lady in our lives.
Here is a picture of Jake's Rock-Skipping handywork. His skills were increasingly impressive, especially considering the lack of flat round rocks available. Wish the shot would have turned out more like I had planned - but it's still pretty cool:
This was such a gorgeous little lake nestled up high near the Alta Ski Resort; Salt Lake City area. We spent good quality time just taking it all in.
We happened to take this hike on September 11th and therefore shared our thoughts about 9-11-2001. I was solemn in reflecting upon the events of that day, but OVERJOYED at the blessings of the present.
"Climb the mountains and there you will find gain. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow freshness into you, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
