"TIME TO CELEBRATE THE DAY I HATCHED"

I made birthday wishes upon a single candle stuck in a microwaveable cake. That's right - cooked in the microwave! My coworkers got me a little cake-kit that came with cake mix, frosting, sprinkles, a candle, a balloon, and a noise maker. It was a funny little concept, and my tastebuds did not approve, but it was worth a laugh or two.

Jake is in Canada, but I turned 24 without him. He was away on this business trip all week, so I expected it would pass by without too much celebration. Such is life. But he had some people that he works with deliver presents from him.Such a great guy, don't you think!? He always makes sure I'm taken care of - and in this case, spoiled! They brought some flowers, some candy, a bunch of body spray, and the best of all....a HOOLA HOOP! It is a weighted hoola hoop for exercising that I have been wanting. Silly, I know, but it is actually really cool and I love it. Between that and the leg-magic he got me for Christmas I should be fit as a fiddle!
uh.... unless I eat all that candy. (haha) THANKS MY JACOB FREE!!!

Lots of friends sent texts or facebook messages to wish me a great day. A few family members called to chat. Good to hear from Dad right before Father's Day and talk to Landry for longer than normal. A member of the ward called on business but remembered to mention my birthday. My mom sent some packages with all the perfect knick-knacks that I have been wishing I had. (An awesome set of scissors, A nice set of spatulas, a new shirt, a measurement conversion chart refrigerator magnet, a book of LDS pictures for teaching, and the cutest little cell phone holder I have ever seen!) My mother in law sent a card in the mail (A little chicken partying that said "Time to celebrate the day you were hatched" - thus the title of this post. :)
THANK YOU EVERYONE!

It was extra nice to hear from people with Jake
being out of town. And a few of them (Karrianne Harris and Karri Warren) were going to drive up from Pocatello to hang out! They had made plans to do so, but then my little sister (ShaNae) came up to keep me company (and I had a scouts activity I needed to go to) - so they decided I was in good hands. And they were right. ShaNae helped me a ton with everyday chores. Then the real fun began at nights when we blew up an air mattress and watched episodes of a TV show on our computer. I guess when I think I am alone, I should never doubt that people who care about me will try to not let that happen.

Oh yes... and let's not forget to mention that our basement flooded the night before my birthday. What a mess! Luckily it didn't ruin much, just kinda dribbled in from the corners. We are a little concerned about our drywall and a section of the carpet being moldy, but it is under control. (Thanks again to ShaNae - my personal little "make everything better" housekeeper.)

Dah ba dee Dah ba dee... That's all folks.....

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY! sorry I missed the boat on that one, but I hope you had an awesome day. That stinks that your basement flooded! Man alive! But nice to have ShaNae there to help you out a bit. By the way, I loved your other blog. Was it ranettefreeness? Did you decide to get rid of it? I just couldn't find it now.
